Quality Decking

When we build our decks it is important to us that we use the right quality materials. Consequently where ever possible we use timber produced by A J Smith and Son (Benfleet) Ltd. They have been supplying timber since 1897 so they understand that quality is important.

We use pressure treated timber for all the various parts of the deck. The treatment gives the timber a pleasant subtle green hue, which you can overstain a different colour if required. Structural timber is used for the framework and Scandinavian/Russian redwood is used for the decking planks. We offer a range of different profile deck boards providing a choice of surfaces including grooved or smooth. In addition to our popular treated redwood decking we are also able to fit naturally durable hardwood decking including Ipe.

We can fit your decking in a choice of two different ways :-

(a) screwing down the deck boards

(b) secret fixing of deck boards with a revolutionary new method, that creates a strong interlocked surface, but with absolutely no visible fixings. Deck boards are able to expand and contract with the weather. This helps minimise cupping and splitting of boards.
